Land of the fast rising sun, Hawai'i was an photographer's dream. Every corner, nook and cranny was filled with photographic opportunities. One could say it's the "Land of 1000's Words".
Ontario Parks Project is a long-term 10-year commissioned contract to help build promotion and awareness of the beauty in our natural spaces. Through exploration by canoe, kayak and foot, I have brought many stunning images back from the depths of the land once forgotten.
In the late fall of 2014, I was got the chance to explore an area of Northern Quebec relatively untouched; Route de la Baie-James. It's a predominately Cree community with a small spattering of French hydro project workers. Among the month I spent throughout massive expanse of that region, I was able to photograph some amazing landscapes, people and wildlife.
There are those times when a chance encounter brings more variety and that helps to keep the creative wheels moving. It's in those moments, you find yourself tested and unprepared. It's these moments where you can shine your brightest light and become the beacon of creativity.
Canadian Winter is a time when many hide inside their heated homes, remote starting cars or run away to warmer climates. I find it the best time to explore the timelessness of a frozen landscape. The formation of ice an snow creates a beautiful yet stark landscape. Some times the cold should be conquered and explored in all it's glory.
